Cine Beacon offers filmmakers that are local to Beacon and the Hudson Valley an opportunity to showcase their work with the community from which it originated. It also allows filmmakers to network and learn from their peers that are local to the Hudson Valley.
Creator and host of Cine Beacon, Jason Latorre, of I SAID CUT Production, has a mission to encourage and celebrate the film community in the Hudson Valley, while building a deep bond between the community and filmmakers. This bridges both sides of the Hudson Valley through the explosion of film arts in our area.
Cine Beacon has partnered with BIFF to give an emerging filmmaker, currently attending a Hudson Valley college, the opportunity to screen their work alongside top talent and films at the Beacon Independent Film Festival. Each month, Cine Beacon will showcase one student film as part of their monthly screening. The top student film will be announced in May 2016 and have the honor of screening at Beacon Independent Film Festival. More information can be found at www.cinebeacon.com/efc.

Along with this we decided that I should also narrate and appear on camera as the face of the company. Being in front of the camera is not my favorite thing to do, but I let go of my ego and gave one for the team. Tara did a great job directing me, while Jason and Tom wrangled the shots and Casey took behind the scenes photo as well as helped with post production. It was a team effort and I am proud to say the results reflect how well this team works together. Enjoy!
J6 will also be hosting a Re>Think screening event at The CineHub on Thursday, April 30th from 6pm to 9pm. Make sure to RSVP on Facebook.
On another note, we are now a new member of Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
